Under the sea we go

Atomic Heart: Enchantment Under the Sea is the third additional content to Atomic Heart by Mundfish, a visually striking first-person action RPG set in an alternate-history Soviet Union. With its mix of fast-paced combat, immersive world-building, and eerie storytelling, the game presents a unique blend of BioShock-style exploration and DOOM-inspired gunplay.

Atomic Heart: Enchantment Under the Sea invites players to delve into the submerged depths of the Neptune Research Center within Facility 3826. This expansion is a compelling addition to Atomic Heart, introducing new environments, characters, and weaponry, enriching the base game's retro-futuristic narrative.

A deep dive into a sea of threats

Atomic Heart: Enchantment Under the Sea continuing the storyline, players assume the role of Major P-3, now accompanied by the consciousness of the Twins. Together, they embark on a mission to prevent a looming catastrophe threatening humanity. The DLC introduces new characters, adding depth and intrigue. This DLC is set in the Neptune Research Center, an underwater setting. Players navigate through intricate aquatic facilities, encountering both new and familiar adversaries

Enchantment Under the Sea expands the player's arsenal with new weapons and abilities tailored to the underwater environment. Combat encounters are designed to challenge players, requiring strategic use of the new tools at their disposal. The DLC maintains the base game's dynamic combat system while integrating fresh mechanics to keep the experience engaging. While the content is decent, some players pointed out long-standing performance issues unfixed.

The DLC excels in creating a visually captivating underwater world. The art direction effectively captures the eerie beauty of the submerged research center, with detailed environments and atmospheric lighting enhancing immersion. The design enhances the sense of discovery and tension. The sound design complements the visuals, using ambient sounds and music to build tension and convey the isolation of the deep-sea setting.

A visually stunning but flawed underwater expansion

Atomic Heart: Enchantment Under the Sea expands the game’s universe with a richly detailed underwater setting, new weapons, and engaging combat encounters. The eerie atmosphere and immersive world-building make for a compelling experience, though lingering performance issues dampen its impact. While the DLC introduces intriguing story elements and fresh mechanics, it may not fully satisfy those expecting major gameplay improvements.
