Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers is a visual novel game developed by Fiction Factory Games and is the sequel to the 2019 game, Arcade Spirits. The game is set in an alternate timeline where arcades never went out of style. The player is an aspiring gamer on a journey to find esports glory on the Fist of Discomfort 2 Pro Tour. The game is a combination of friendship, romance, and adventure, and the player must rally their team, defeat rivals, conquer tournaments, and uncover a strange arcade conspiracy on their way to victory.

The game features six new characters to befriend and romance, with a few return appearances by series favorites. The character art is by Molly Nemecek, and the game has pulsating synthwave tunes by Greg Mirles! The background art by Jessie Lam is amazing. Players can measure their personality using Iris, their handy virtual assistant, and can choose to be Kindly, Steady, Quirky, Gutsy, or Flexibly. The game also allows players to date anyone they like regardless of their pronouns, or focus entirely on building friendships. The character creator has been expanded, allowing players to choose body type, hairstyles, accessories, clothing, and more.
