Anders: The Dark Coast is a premium action game by developer Andrew Simon. In this third-person narrative-driven beat-em-up, players are thrust into the dangerous underworld after a chance encounter with a group of criminals. They will go on a perilous to these fiendish delinquents no matter where the road leads.

Dark past

Anders: The Dark Coast centers on the gripping story of the titular Anders who gets into an altercation with the local gang of criminals by the coast. Together with his friend, he will be delving deep into the Australian wilderness. Fights will break out as you defeat your attackers and reach the leader.

That leader is Jayden and when you finally get to meet and confront him, secrets from a dark past come rising to the surface. One area the game still needs to work on, though, is the combat. In its current state, the experience just feels imprecise and clunky.

Letdown by combat

Anders: The Dark Coasts features an intriguing story with some dark undertones that are curious to explore and know more about. However, that is only part of the experience, with the close combat encounters being the other. This is where the game falls short and needs to be better. Nevertheless, it's worth checking out.
