Against the Storm - Keepers of the Stone DLC brings fresh challenges and opportunities to the game by introducing the Frogs, a new species focusing on stone masonry and water. Their unique housing requirements, in the form of highly upgradeable Frog Houses, add depth to settlement management, forcing players to balance their growing needs while surviving the Blightstorm.

Against the Storm - Keepers of the Stone DLC also introduces the Coastal Grove biome, where settlements begin along the water and lack the usual royal support. Instead, players must rely on the new Strider Port building, which allows expeditions to uncover hidden treasures and gain valuable rewards like new building designs.  

Additionally, Keepers of the Stone includes 12 new orders, new Legendary and Epic Cornerstones, and a revamped Smoldering City upgrade tree to support the Frogs' unique needs. The expansion enhances the game's strategic complexity. However, the DLC's new mechanics can feel overwhelming, especially for newcomers, and the Coastal Grove biome can seem too isolated.
