Artificer's Tower is a premium simulation game for PC coming from developer RodentGames. It is a base-building simulator with fantasy themes. In it, players take on the role of a wizard tasked with creating a fortress to keep their brethren safe and defend against external forces that aim to do them harm.

Similar to Oxygen Not Included and RimWorld, Artificer's Tower combines base management mechanics with tower defense gameplay for a strategic but also action-packed experience. Beyond this demo, players can expect to play the full game when it releases on April 18, 2024.

Magic fortress

Artificer's Tower is essentially a colony simulator with a fantasy twist and tower defense gameplay. In it, you're a wizard tasked with building a home for your fellow magic brethren where they can they can live in peace. You'll start with a multi-level tower akin to a residential condominium, and you can design to look however you like as long as there's enough room for everybody.

Of course, running such a large colony will be difficult, so you will need to train wizards so they can be self-sufficient and productive members of the community. As you expand and upgrade your tower comes the need for complex systems to keep things running smoothly. Assign tasks to the right people so you can focus more on other aspects.

Monsters will occasionally invade your tower, and this is where the tower defense element of the game comes in. Put up traps, assign wizards to defend each floor, and even summon defeated bosses to fight for your side. Now, as of this writing, Artificer's Tower is not available yet, but there are only a few days left before it does, so the wait won't be long.

A fun little twist

Overall, Artificer's Tower is a nice base-building game with fantasy themes and fun tower defense gameplay to keep things from getting dull. You can design your tower however you like and is also quite engaging and satisfying to watch it all evolve from humble beginnings. It won't be long now before it officially comes out, so keep your eyes peeled.
