在留カード等読取アプリケーション is a free Android utility and tool developed by 出入国在留管理庁. This application allows users to read their 在留カード (Residence Card) or 特別永住者証明書 (Special Permanent Resident Certificate) using their NFC-enabled Android devices. The 在留カード is issued to individuals who have been granted permission to stay in Japan for a medium to long period, such as those who have obtained a new landing permit, changed their residence status, or renewed their stay period. The 特別永住者証明書, on the other hand, is issued to individuals who have special permanent resident status and serves as proof of their legal status.

To use this application, users must have an 在留カード or 特別永住者証明書. The recommended operating environment is an Android device with NFC (Type B) support and Android version 6.0 or later. Please note that support for this application is only available via email, and phone inquiries are not accepted.
