The Vedas and the Hymns: The Vedas are a collection of sacred texts that have been revered by mankind for many generations. The Vedas were composed by the ancient Indian sages known as the rishis. They are the primary religious texts in Hinduism and the dominant religious texts in most of the Asian countries. The Vedas are divided into two categories: the Sutra, which is the more important of the two, and the Vyakaran, or the Ritual. The Sutra consists of the Gita, the Upanishad, and the Bhagavad Gita. The Vyakaran is the second of the two, and it consists of the Pranava, the Bhajan, the Atharva, the Sadhusam, and the Manavad.

The Hymns are the spiritual songs that are used in the various Hindu rituals. The most important of the hymns is the hymn to the Goddess Amba, the divine mother of the universe, and the other is the hymn to the god Vishnu.
