Xnotika Player isn't just any old media player. It provides on-demand access to a wide variety of Italian rock. It's named for Xnotika an indie rock band and the software itself was developed by Marco Cervoni of Silicostar a programmer and songwriter with multiple other programs under his belt. It serves to promote indie artists to remind one of a real music CD... and to give you that music for free. Sounds pretty good doesn't it?

A Powerful Aesthetic

To be honest the main draw of Xnotika Player (besides the selection of music available for free) is how it feels. From the moment you start it up you'll see photographic art that's reminiscent of album or CD covers from the late 90s a sort of style that continues today among many indie rock groups. Though the software itself is somewhat spartan in its features and programming that's not really a big problem for such a simple program.

So basically Xnotika Player is great for getting access to the music it provides which a lot of people wouldn't otherwise hear. It's all subjective of course but our review at least found it fairly pleasant melodic listening. Though it's all Italian rock a lot of it blends genres in ways you'd hope for offbeat indie bands to do. Overall Xnotika Player is worth tring if you have an interest in music.
