XKB Keyboard Layouts for Chrome OS is a free Chrome extension that expands the available keyboard layouts on Chrome OS. With over 500 layouts to choose from, this extension allows users to customize their keyboard settings to suit their specific needs.

Chrome OS typically only exposes a subset of around 150 keyboard layouts based on Linux's XKB. However, this extension unlocks the full potential of XKB by making all 700 layouts visible in Chrome OS. This means users have access to a much wider range of keyboard layouts, including those specific to different languages, regions, and input methods.

With a simple installation process and a user-friendly interface, XKB Keyboard Layouts for Chrome OS is a valuable tool for anyone looking to enhance their typing experience on Chrome OS. Whether you need a specialized layout for programming, writing in a foreign language, or simply prefer a different layout than the default options, this extension provides the flexibility and variety you need.

For more information and a complete list of available layouts, you can visit the project's website on GitHub.
