The Xfinity app is the easiest way to connect to an xFi Gateway or an approved modem or router and set up your home network without a technician's help. With it, you can access your plan info, review the status of your network, and pay your bill.

How do I connect to Xfinity Gateway?

The bulk of Comcast's xFi Gateways are compatible with the Xfinity app. An xFi Fiber Gateway (Arris X5001) cannot be activated using the Xfinity mobile app; the Arris X5001 can only be enabled by a certified Xfinity technician. If you don't have an Xfinity ID, create it first. You'll then be prompted to access your account. 

If you aren't prompted to access after signing into the Xfinity app, go to the Account icon in the top-left corner of the Overview tab and select Activate xFi Gateway or Modem from the Devices tab under the Devices tab. You can use Xfinity xFi to see how fast your xFi Gateway's Xfinity Internet access is. 

This capability is only possible via the Xfinity app for customers who have certain xFi Gateways. In the Xfinity app, go to the Connect tab and then to the Internet Health button. From here, you can check the speed of the gateway and the unit you're using to use xFi.

Full control of your Xfinity WiFi

You can access all wireless devices on your network without needing to connect to the internet (that is, cellular data) or a computer within the Xfinity app. You can also use the app to control offline devices, and edit WiFi settings, and reboot the router. You can also change the logical names of your computers and track their peak data use at certain hours. Overall, it's a much-needed app for Xfinity subscribers.
