This excellent free plugin embeds a form on your WordPress site that allows you or visitors to upload files onto it. You do this by Inserting the code [wordpress_file_upload] on any WordPress page or post or by adding the WordPress File Upload Plugin widget to any sidebar or directory on your WP site. 

You may personalize your form by adding custom fields and much more. You can also add videos or screenshots from your website, although not all browsers allow this. Your uploaded files are stored in the WP-Content directory of your server.  Drop Uploader and Filetrip are similar plugins that you can use; for instance, if your browser doesn’t support all the functions of WordPress File Upload. 

How the plugin works

The plugin has a menu for uploaded files in the Dashboard, where admins can view the logging of all uploads. It has a file browser that allows admins to access the uploaded files to be able to manage them. You can use filters and actions you can take before and after the uploads to extend the plugin’s capabilities. 

The progress of uploads is monitored by a progress bar. You can stop any uploads at any stage. You may add the uploaded files to the media, or they can be attached to the page you’re currently on. 

Features of the plugin

Even though it uses the newest HTML5 technology, the plugin will still work with some older browsers and mobile phones. It can be added to pages, posts, and sidebars as a widget in WordPress and will support extra form fields (email fields, text fields, checkboxes, and dropdown lists).

Multilingual capabilities

The plugin supports different languages and localization in other countries. It has been translated into Portuguese, German, French, Serbian, Dutch, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Swedish, Persian, and Greek.

Upload your files

You will have to have Javascript enabled on your browser if you want to use the plugin. On Internet Explorer, you’ll have to enable Active-X. Old desktop or mobile browsers might not support all the features of the WordPress File Upload plugin.
