World of Warcraft®: The War Within™ is a premium role-playing experience that expands the massive World of Warcraft universe. This DLC kicks off the new Worldsoul Saga, which Blizzard Entertainment has touted as a trilogy of expansion packs 20 years in the making. In this chapter, players will venture deep underground to explore the long-lost Nerubian empire and stop the Harbinger of the Void in its tracks.

Aside from a host of new locations, World of Warcraft®: The War Within™ also offers new features such as the account-wide Warband progression. This expansion follows World of Warcraft: Dragonflight.

Go deep into the earth

World of Warcraft®: The War Within™ sends players deep beneath Azeroth, tasked with finding and stopping the Harbinger of the Void. He’s amassing Nerubians, ancient intelligent arachnid creatures, to do his bidding. This new storyline introduces new locations. The Isle of Dorn houses the land of Khaz Algar, home to a new Allied race called the Earthen. The Ringing Deeps, Hallowfall, and Azj-Kahet are all subterranean locations to explore.

Aside from the new Allied race, players also get to explore the new endgame content with Delves — short adventures with stories that tie into the main campaign. This update will also roll out Warbands, allowing players to share progression across different characters in the same account. New Hero Talent trees also add customization for skill and play builds. Lastly, this expansion adds to the flying system first introduced in Dragonflight.

The expansion is sold in three different tiers: Base, Heroic, and Epic Edition, with the latter two adding more exclusive content such as mounts, special race courses, and other cosmetics. Also, while the DLC is not yet released, it still has an experience requirement to access. However, this requirement has been significantly nerfed compared to its predecessor, making it more accessible for players.
