If you don't know the word, you can press the hints button, and they will be displayed in red letters on the puzzle. You can use the hints as many times as you want, but you can only use them if you have not found a word in the puzzle. 

In addition, you can also drag the word to move it around, or tap it to see if you can find any letters.
