WooCommerce Currency Switcher is a free currency plugin for WordPress that integrates with WooCommerce as a widget. Like YayCurrency, WooCommerce Multi Currency, and Currency Switcher for WooCommerce, it lets potential buyers on your site select which currency they want to see the prices in. They can also make payments in that currency if they follow the price rules.

While the free version may sound enticing, a significant downfall is that you can only show two currencies unless you upgrade to the Premium plan. If you’re not planning on adding too many options, then you may be able to use the free model. Otherwise, it’s incredibly limiting.

Let buyers select their currencies

At the core of the plugin is the ability for your audience to use a widget to change the WooCommerce currency to one that they would prefer to use. WooCommerce Currency Switcher provides a drop-down list, which then pulls through the information once selected. You can also set the custom money signs and price formats so that it’s unique to your site.

See price rates in real-time

Exchange rates never remain the same for too long and tend to fluctuate during the day. WooCommerce Currency Switcher has specific rules in place to ensure that your clients always see the true value in real-time. If they decide to come back the next day for a product they wanted to buy, they’ll see the new amount in their currency based on the exchange. It means they may pay less or more than the previously revealed figure.

Set rules and limits

Adding WooCommerce Currency Switcher in your WordPress admin portal makes the process straightforward. It provides you with shortcodes that you can place on the relevant pages or across the entire site. You can then set payment, individual price, and GEO IP rules, to name a few of the options available.

Fast-changing currency utility

WooCommerce Currency Switcher is ideal if you have an eCommerce site, and you need to add a function for changing values based on the exchange rate. It’s hard to recommend the free version, as you’ll only have two currencies to play with, but at least you’ll get a taste for how it works on WordPress before you upgrade.
