Will of Shinobi is a free action role-playing mobile game wherein you must compete against other players to become the ultimate Shinobi. This ninja RPG title is based on the popular anime and manga series, Naruto, and lets you control much of the various characters introduced in its story arcs. It offers a hero-collecting gacha system and auto-battles for the brawler gameplay. However, it reuses a lot of the assets from other Naruto games.

A playable cast

Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. First released in 1999, it tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja who dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village. This saga follows his story until his teenage years and even continues into his adult life in Boruto, which features his son’s own adventures. The manga spawned a successful anime adaptation and its fame eventually spawned other media.

From films to light novels to video games, this series had amassed a variety of content to satisfy its huge fandom. However, in terms of games, there’s not a lot that the mobile gaming community can fully enjoy—most especially when it comes to the officially-licensed. Will of Shinobi is one of these unofficial games, but it does its best to make the gameplay enjoyable by featuring real-time combat with unique character skills. 

These characters can be collected either via the gacha system or by fusing their fragments that you can get as a reward or an in-app purchase. You can also get equipment and pets for them. The main campaign lets your form a party from your collection, but you can also duel other players in tag-team battles. Unfortunately, much of the graphics here aren’t original and came from other Naruto games. The 3D models themselves look unpolished.

Ripped assets

Overall, Will of Shinobi is a nice mobile game based on Naruto but it has its good and bad sides. Its gameplay is enjoyable enough for any type of player or Naruto fan. The game also offers many of the fan-favorite characters from the series as playable units you can personally control. However, the visuals aren’t originally made and they often look cheap when you compare them to the visuals of other Naruto games.
