The only difference is that the installer-based program is easier to deploy. Here, all your settings will be stored in the user folder.  Note that profiles are linked to specific adapters. Without it, the profiles will not be displayed. The archived version is suited for those that can forego the portability features. 

Both LAN and WLAN profiles can be created, deleted, and connected from Wifinian. The app will display all available connections, while more connections can be added based on the interval you set. Once set, you will find all the nearby hotspots on the list or at a designated time. This will come in handy when you’re traveling and you have access to multiple Wi-Fi points. The option to reload the list manually is also available.

You can also set a limit to the number of times it will refresh, especially when a Wi-Fi spot is available. Other customization options include changing the order of the profiles and deleting WLAN profiles. Blocking connections is going to be an important feature for users that want to protect their private information from hackers or sleuths. Once deleted, the profile will no longer be on your PC.
