Wetory tells the story of a small child who has been affected by a congenital disease. He lives within a world that is devoid of colors. However, his feet leak these colors as he moves through various levels. The main goal is to unlock more colors and, therefore, greater powers.

In terms of player perspective and movements, the three-dimensional nature of this single-player game is similar to other RPGs, such as Geneforge Saga. Although the atmosphere can be considered somewhat dark, it is still quite entertaining.

Cartoon-like graphics

All of the graphics found within Wetory have been created by hand, and they appear similar to cartoons in many ways. These are then combined with unique character mechanics as well as immersive cutscenes.

A unique progression concept

Unlike traditional role-playing games that require players to defeat enemies in order to gain power-ups, exploration is the main purpose of Wetory. The character will encounter treasure chests along the way, and each of these contains a different color. The colors themselves unlock new skills and open up access to new worlds.

No attack options

This game is also particularly challenging due to the fact that the player is unable to attack. He or she will instead have to avoid enemies or interact with objects in order to counter their effects.

A premise that is unique as the gameplay itself

Wetory represents a combination of classic RPGs such as Path of Exile and modern rogue-like exploration platforms. Due to the fact that there is little inherent violence, this game tends to be suitable for all age groups. Wetory was also awarded first prize in the 2021 Indie Game Awards, and for this reason, it is certainly worth a closer look.
