WebMCP Bridge is a Chrome extension that facilitates the integration of web applications with AI assistants through the Model Context Protocol. It allows web applications to register their functionalities as tools that can be discovered and utilized by AI clients like Claude Code and Cursor. This functionality is achieved by employing the navigator.modelContext browser API, enabling seamless communication between web apps and AI assistants.

The extension supports both per-tab and per-domain activation, ensuring flexibility in how tools are exposed. It effectively aggregates tools from all active tabs, providing a status indicator to monitor the connection state and active tool count. As a locally running process, the companion MCP server ensures that all communication remains on the user's machine, maintaining data privacy.
