WAVE PTX is a program developed by MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS INC for iPhone users in the Business & Productivity category. This free application allows users to expand their existing land mobile radio (LMR) service to include broadband users on the devices and networks they already have. With WAVE PTX, users can extend two-way radio push-to-talk communication to phones, tablets, and PCs, increasing team productivity with instant communication anywhere there is a network or Wi-Fi connection.

The features of WAVE PTX include carrier-independent connectivity, allowing users to use any 3G/4G LTE, public Wi-Fi, or private data network connection. It also offers emergency calling and other critical communications features, real-time streaming video, voice messaging (both pre-recorded and record-and-send), group and private 1-1 push-to-talk calls, group and private 1-1 text messaging, as well as a persistent threaded history of messages, texts, and multimedia.

Furthermore, WAVE PTX provides interoperability to LMR networks, allowing users to seamlessly communicate with existing land mobile radio systems. Users can also share images, videos, and files through the application and locate and track other users on a map. It is important to note that WAVE PTX is not available for use by individual consumers.
