Wargroove is a high fantasy turn-based strategy game developed by Chucklefish for PlayStation 4. The game is heavily inspired by games like Advance Wars and Fire Emblem, and features a minimalist pixelated visual style with a 2D top-down view. The game is designed to recreate the retro atmosphere of the old games from the early 2000s handheld consoles.

In the game, the player takes on the role of one of twelve unique commanders, each with a distinct personality, motivation, and a personal set of missions. The player navigates their commander on the map and battles enemies. As the player progresses, new commanders can be unlocked. The commanders belong to four different factions: Cherrystone Kingdom, Felheim Legion, Heavensong Empire, and Floran Tribes. Wargroove includes a variety of modes, such as single player, cooperative multiplayer, and player versus player, in both online and local modes. The game also features a map editor that allows players to create their own campaigns, interlinking missions to create non-linear campaigns.
