We meet Daveth and Jory in the game Dragon Age: Origins.

Daveth is a Grey Warden who had previously existed - for six years - as a career criminal. Yet he is lacking in skill.

Jory is a Grey Warden recruit who is skilled at handling two-handed weapons, and who had previously served as a knight; curiously, he has a bit of an apprehensive streak.

The two, when paired, tend to give off this rather hilarious, bumbling vibe, though skilled one of them might be. This becomes apparent when they become temporary companions in the Korcari Wilds.
