WAR PARTY is a strategy game developed and published by Crazy Monkey Studios and Warcave. The strategy game features prehistoric battles with real-time strategy gameplay. Players have to raise an army to defeat opposing forces.

Kingdoms Before Time

WAR PARTY is set in the stone-age era where dinosaurs roam despite being a different time period. There was once a highly advanced civilization that utilized both magic and technology. That civilization has almost taken over the world until they disappeared eons later while nature, prehistoric beasts, and dinosaurs were left to reclaim the world. The plot begins when the tribes of men emerge from the prehistoric environment and harnessing the ancient civilization’s magic and technology. Players must gather materials, craft tools, discover ancient magic and technologies from artifacts found on ruins and fight for the limited resources until one tribe remains. The game has every real-time strategy game element. Players select one of the three available factions: the savage “Wildlanders”, the brute “Necromas”, and the mystical “Vithara”. They begin with a small base and they can eventually expand it while contesting for the natural resources and artifacts. They can recruit prehistoric soldiers as well as tame wild animals and even the dinosaurs. The game encourages strategy like resource management, skill utilization, and map awareness.

Game Modes To Conquer

There are different types of game modes to choose from. The Campaign Mode lets players choose one tribe, complete tribe-specific missions, unravel the secret of the artifacts and lead them to victory that will shape the world. The Survival Mode is more of a score attack where players pick a tribe and survive from the ever-increasing enemy horde. There is a Leaderboard dedicated to those who survived longer. The Skirmish Mode is a single or multiplayer battle against the A.I. in varying difficulty settings as well as map locations. The Custom Online Multiplayer allows PvP matches with different game modes and custom settings. The Observer Mode lets anyone spectate ongoing matches and learn tactics from other players. The Ranked Multiplayer Mode is the more serious PvP matches with leaderboards. Winning a match will grant points for rising above the Leaderboards. There are even Dedicated Servers for ranked matches so that everybody is connected in a single server. An In-Game Wiki is provided as sources of information. Players can customize the Hotkeys for quicker command execution.

Ruling Over the Prehistoric Times

WAR PARTY is somehow reminiscent of older real-time strategy games. The story and premise are interesting because players can finally control hordes of dinosaurs with very colorful tribes. It brings back the fun and excitement of playing real-time strategy games
