Sri Vishnu Sahasranamavali is an ancient religious text that is a compilation of one thousand names of the god Vishnu. The text was written by the sage Bhishma and it is considered to be one of the most important religious texts in the Vaishnavism religion. The text is divided into two parts, one is called the stotram and the other is called the namavali. The namavali is a long poem that is a form of worship. It is recited by a person as he is performing his worship. The purpose of the poem is to praise and worship the god Vishnu. The namavali is divided into different categories and subcategories.
