Vertical Drop Heroes HD is a rogue-like RPG that follows the journey of a dungeon explorer who is set to explore the procedurally generated environment. Developed by Digerati Distribution and available on Nintendo Switch, this game is the remake of a web-platformer in HD quality.

The gameplay of Vertical Drop Heroes HD is filled with destructible and indestructible blocks, enemies, spells, weaponry, and bosses. The protagonist, whose name varies depending on the skills and background chosen, needs to explore the 2D levels and go as far as possible in his explorations. However, all progress except for the skill points is lost after death. To upgrade the level of the successors, the protagonist can use the goods he found on his previous dungeon run. The game also features split-screen cooperative and online multiplayer for up to 4 characters. The procedurally generated environment makes the game highly replayable, and the skills bring variety into descending every time.

Unlike most rogue-likes where the successors of the protagonist are presented as his offsprings, Vertical Drop Heroes HD has a unique plot. The game features the prophecy of a great hero and some kamikazes who suddenly thought it is a tale about them. The immersive mechanics work on a better level, making the gameplay more engaging.
