Verizon Cloud: Backup and access across devices
Verizon Cloud, from Verizon Wireless, is a cloud storage app for keeping personal files available across phones, tablets, and computers. It supports photos, videos, documents, and contacts, while also providing tools for transferring, organizing, editing, and sharing stored content.
The app backs up photos and videos at their original sizes without reducing their quality and synchronizes saved contacts. Documents can also be stored in the cloud, allowing users to access their files from compatible devices running different operating systems. However, it is not a full device backup, as it does not cover every type of data, app, or device setting.
Its transfer feature helps users move content when switching to a new phone or tablet. This can make device upgrades less tedious, particularly for users who want to move their content without handling each file individually.
Tag and Search lets users label friends and family in photos, making specific images easier to find. Locations display photos and videos on a geographical map, while weekly Flashbacks and Stories resurface older media.
The app also includes tools for creating movies and customizing photos with filters and stickers. Stored content can be shared through compatible apps, and selected images can be used to order prints and photo gifts.
Unlimited Individual and Unlimited Group plans provide unlimited storage across compatible devices. The group plan can include up to five users, with each member receiving a separate unlimited cloud storage space at no additional charge. Sensitive files can also be placed in a PIN-protected private folder, keeping them separate from the rest of the user’s stored content.
Verizon Cloud covers the main needs of users who want to back up personal content, access files from several devices, and transfer data when upgrading their hardware. Its organization, editing, and sharing tools add convenience, though its overall value will depend on whether the available storage plans suit the user’s needs.
