Vadodara Gas Limited (VGL) is a joint venture company between GAIL Gas Limited and Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan (VMSS) established inIts primary objective is to distribute city gas in Vadodara and its adjoining areas. VGL operates nine Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations, catering to the automobile sector, and a Piped Natural Gas (PNG) network that supplies PNG to domestic and commercial sectors. The company plans to expand its CNG distribution network by adding three mother stations and six online stations in the next five years and laying a steel pipeline network of about 50 km. VGL also plans to supply PNG to an additional 500,000 domestic, 2,000 commercial, and about 1,000 industrial consumers in the next five years by laying about 700 km of PE Pipeline Distribution Network. The company has a total capital expenditure of approximately Rs. 350 crore in the first five years in a phased manner. With the incorporation of the joint venture company, both the promoters expect that there would be a dedicated thrust for CGD activities and the projects would be completed on a fast track basis to facilitate the fulfillment of the city gas requirement in the city of Vadodara.
