The former deals with the physical, the latter with the mental and spiritual aspects of life. 

In Vaastu Shastra, the architect is the person who is in charge of the entire process of building and designing. He has to follow the rules that are given in the niti. These rules are not easy to follow. In fact, it is very difficult to understand them at first sight. The architect has to be very careful while following these rules.
