The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) has been established to provide the Indian youth with employable skills. One of its endeavors toward that goal is the free-to-use Mobile Application for Growth In Career (MAGIC) — or simply UPSDM Magic — a reference app which tests qualified candidates.

UPSDM Magic quizzes qualified candidates through an organized interface and with curated exam questions, assessing their skills in order to match them with existing career and job opportunities. Additional training for the subject role may be required, but this comes after the assessment is completed.

Its target audience is candidates within the age range of 14 to 35 years old, school or university dropouts, and any unemployed citizen who has signed up for any short-term skill development courses. Besides the exam, the app does not do anything else. It is also not for non-Indian users.

All in all, UPSDM Magic aims to assess the skills of 14 to 35 year olds — including unemployed individuals and dropouts — potentially contributing to a large pool of trained and skilled workers should the results and the job market match. On this app, users can take a career test and find a job that matches with their skills.
