UoM Blackboard Enhancement is a Chrome extension developed by RyanXin that aims to improve the user experience of Blackboard at the University of Manchester. This lightweight extension is written in native JavaScript, ensuring high efficiency and reliability.

With UoM Blackboard Enhancement, you can customize your Blackboard homepage by hiding unnecessary course entries, displaying UK time, customizing the live sessions portal, and collapsing any portlet as you wish. The extension also allows you to have more control over the embedded video player, including applying an embedded player in the Video Portal, using the keyboard to control the player, and saving and overriding caption styles.

In addition to these features, UoM Blackboard Enhancement offers other utilities such as opening external links and file content in new tabs, opening embedded PDF files and web pages directly in the browser, and jumping to in-page hash anchors. The extension also provides an auto-login feature for the UoM Login System, allowing you to automatically log in with locally stored account information.

The extension comes with a settings page where you can import/export your user configuration for migration, configure account information for auto-login, and turn on/off various features. UoM Blackboard Enhancement also ensures accessibility by syncing layout and configuration with your browser account automatically and providing long-term support with auto-updates.
