Unsteady Bounce is a free platformer game created by indie developer TheComfy. This arcade game, made for the Ludum Dare 49, will have you control a ball as it jumps from rooftop to rooftop. The goal is to make it reach the heart located at the end of the screen.

Unsteady Bounce takes a lot of inspiration from popular jumping games, such as Pogosticks, JumpKing, and Getting Over It, and features similarities in playstyle. However, unlike the mentioned titles, this one is meant to be chill and artsy. With this, don't expect a deep narrative throughout its gameplay. 

How do you play this game?

Unsteady Bounce is a small indie player that features physics gameplay. As mentioned, you will play as a ball that jumps from rooftop to rooftop. Your goal is to reach the end of the stage, where a heart is floating. By hitting that heart, you complete the level and will advance. Although, there are only five levels to the game, which makes it fast to complete.

You can control the game through your keyboard. A and D keys or the left and right arrows allow you to change the jump force. Meanwhile, W and S keys or the up and down arrows enable you to change the rotation speed. Finally, the space bar lets you jump. Note, however, that you cannot jump everywhere. When you hit the red bricks, your game will end.

As noted, the game is meant to be an artsy physics game. It features hand-drawn graphics made more artistic with its rough shadings. Additionally, each level will have a tricky design, making it a little challenging. However, more than its short runtime, there is also nothing much to the game. There are no options to speak of, and there is no real sense of progression.

Overall, Unsteady Bounce is your typical casual game. It has a simple gameplay that is easy to master. It also features beautiful graphics. However, it is very short, with only five different levels offered. Additionally, unlike similar games, there is not much going on in this game. Nevertheless, it is still a good title to pick up if you are looking for something to play as you kill time.
