Unravel Two is a premium adventure game for PC by developer Coldwood Interactive. It is the sequel to the puzzle-platformer title, Unravel. In it, players will again be taking control of an anthropomorphic creature called Yarny as they try to solve various challenges and manipulate the world around them.

Compared to Unravel, Unravel Two will have players control two yarnys this time around. They can opt to control both creatures themselves or separately with the help of a friend via the new local co-op mode. The gameplay has also been tweaked to take this new dynamic into consideration.

Two is better than one

Unravel is a puzzle-platformer game praised for its charming character, beautifully crafted world, and its emotional and heartfelt story. It strikes a nice balance between clever puzzles that make use of real-world objects while keeping players invested in the narrative. Its sequel, Unravel Two, builds upon the game's solid foundation and will take you on a new adventure that is set on an island.

This sequel revolves around a red yarny separated from its owner in a storm and washed ashore, with its yarn cut. It encounters a blue yarny with the same predicament, and the two decide to connect their dead ends to form a bond. The pair set out on a journey to help a couple of children who escape an abusive home but find themselves in danger.

Your adventures will take you across seven story levels and an additional 20 challenge levels for extended gameplay. You'll also notice that the platforming challenges and puzzles have been refined and more elaborate compared to the original. While multiplayer is now possible here, it is limited to local co-op only, which can be a bit of a hassle to work around in some instances.

A worthy sequel

Unravel Two is a great sequel that is just as charming and emotional as the original. Its world is as beautiful as ever, and its puzzles and platforming offer more challenge and complexity. The addition of a second character is a nice touch and makes the experience much more endearing. If you enjoyed playing the first Unravel, this will not disappoint.
