Unpacking is a game about the familiar experience of pulling possessions out of boxes and fitting them into a new home.

The game has eight house moves, giving the player a chance to experience a sense of intimacy with a character you never see and a story you’re never told. The game is based on the idea that every character has a life story revealed through the items they leave behind in the empty space in the home they move into.

The gameplay is based on a classic “item Tetris” style, where the player is given a row of boxes to pull items out of and place them in the home. Each move takes place in a different room in the house.
