Revived Ubiquity for Chrome

UbiChr is "Ubiquity for Chrome" - a revived command line interface that brings lots of useful command shortcuts.

In UbiChr, you can open a command-like window to execute commands with arguments and preview the results. Although the default Ctrl+Space shortcut needs to be set manually, it allows for efficient command execution. Additionally, you can open new tabs and pass GET or POST parameters, making tasks like Wikipedia searches, dictionary lookups, and text translations a breeze.

One of the standout features of UbiChr is its ability to fetch data via ajax, process it, and display it on the extension's popup preview. For example, you can easily look up movie information on IMDB or convert currencies. UbiChr also allows you to alter current pages by highlighting keywords, inverting or removing colors, and more.

For advanced users, UbiChr provides a built-in editor that lets you add custom JavaScript commands in a syntax similar to the original Ubiquity project. You can also take advantage of powerful features offered by the Chrome extension, such as injecting scripts, accessing cookies, setting alarms, bulk saving and zipping URLs, and filtering opened tabs for specific text or links.

Furthermore, UbiChr allows you to share your custom commands with others via GitHub Gist.

Please note that the Ctrl+Space shortcut may need to be manually reassigned in the Chrome add-on management dashboard. You can do this by visiting the chrome://extensions/shortcuts URL.

UbiChr is a free Chrome add-on developed by rostok. It falls under the category of Browsers and is classified as an Add-ons & Tools subcategory.
