What makes the game more interesting is the story which, as its developers describe, is taking the concept of in-app purchases and turning them into part of the gameplay experience in a fourth wall-breaking type of move. It involves "hacking the system" which essentially involves completing tasks to help facilitate the cracking of the code.

The game takes place in TwinWorld where a gateway has let loose dark forces from the abyss. You're part of the chosen ones tasked with stopping this evil. Combat in Twinworld Survivors is as you expect from the sub-genre, with multiple heroines to choose from with special abilities. As you level up during gameplay, receive random perks like increased damage or health to help you during your run.

You'll also unlock various weapons and gear to customize your character before each run, adapting to your preferred playstyle. There are even special pets to accompany you and provide support during battle. All that said, the game is ridden with numerous bugs that negatively impact gameplay, such as missing chests and invisible wall glitches that appear randomly, among others that are borderline game-breakers.

Overall, Twinworld Survivors has a lot of interesting things going for it, from its unique premise to its roster of characters and highly adaptable combat. Unfortunately, there are just too many bugs that ruin the experience, which considering it's a paid game, is quite unacceptable. Until those issues are resolved, your time and money are better spent on something else.
