Twins of the Sun is an action-adventure game where players follow the intertwined fates of a set of twins navigating a world slowly falling into darkness. You can play as either twin heroes — or both — and experience how the vibrant adventure game blends engaging hack-and-slash combat with exploration across several uniquely themed locations. 

Twins of the Sun supports both solo play and co-op, allowing players to choose between exploring together or independently. The multiplayer mode is the local couch co-op type with split-screen gaming, so you at least won’t be too confused between your character and your partner’s character. 

Discover and explore diverse lands 

Twins of the Sun is a story about the evolving bond between the titular siblings, influenced by player choices, dialogue responses, and key story events. With several handcrafted levels set in varied and untamed lands — including lush jungles, forgotten villages, treacherous mines, and more — you can freely explore the vivid landscapes and enjoy its art style of dynamic color palettes. 

The game combines several gameplay features to create a layered experience. From puzzle-solving to tactical strategy, players can alternate between experimenting with character abilities and engaging in action sequences. Its mechanics are pretty straightforward and simple to follow. With one twin able to manipulate light and the other able to manipulate environmental elements, switching fluidly between them is an added game of strategy and logic to overcome increasingly complex challenges.  

However, despite being granted an opportunity to explore the land, players are still limited in the characters and maps that they can explore, to keep the focus on the story. The maps are themed but instance-based only despite the illusion of open-world exploration. Additionally, only local co-op mode is available for the multiplayer option. You can’t do online play with others.
