Turbo Outrun Reimagined is a free racing game for PC from an indie developer who goes by Sk1ds. It's a fan remake of the classic arcade racer by Sega, Out Run. This version retains much of the retro charm of the original, as well as its easy-to-learn gameplay mechanics.

Much like Top Racer Collection or Neodori Forever, Turbo Outrun Reimagined takes on a fun approach to the driving gameplay. However, it also incorporates car conditioning and maintenance systems to make things more interesting and complex. There are multiple cars to choose from and race tracks spread across the world.

A classic reimagined

Out Run was one of the most popular arcade racing games during the late 1980s. At the time, it boasted some of the best graphics. Couple that with a thrilling driving experience, and it's no wonder why it became such a big hit and commercial success. In comes Turbo Outrun

Reimagined, a fan remake that aims to replicate the original's magic for today's crop of gamers.

This fan remake features the same retro styling as the original with some nice visual upgrades, such as enhanced saturation and sharpness. Take on five races across three difficulty modes with varying handicaps and time limits to test your driving skills, all that while staying ahead of your opponents. There are also car damage and tire management systems in place to consider while racing.

Get to drive all kinds of vehicles, from sports cars to motorbikes and others. Each race, you get a chance to get parts for rewards which you can use to repair and upgrade your ride for the next race. The developer has also made it possible for players to create their own car and submit them to be added to the game. 

Simply impressive

While it's just a fan remake, Turbo Outrun Reimagined is such a well-made game that it could pass off as an actual successor or sequel to the original. The addition of various car systems elevates the experience beyond a simple arcade racer. If you're a long-time fan or this is your first foray into the classic title, this is a must-play for any racing enthusiast.
