Tropico Reloaded is a game where you take the role of El Presidente, the ruler of a remote island republic during the Cold War era. In some ways it is similar to other urban planning simulation games, such as Sim City or Civilization, but its style and humour set it apart... as well as having a few more nasty tricks for careless players.

Lush Green Jungles And Black Comedy

From the moment you take the reins, you're acknowledged as El Presidente. The game doesn't say that you're a dictator, but that's because most of your advisors are too afraid to! From there, you'll be deciding how to govern, from top-level decisions down to where roads go and how your people live. Of course, if you misstep, you might find you have more enemies than you like: rebels, agitators, and your own caucus can all turn against you if the time is right (or wrong).

Is It To Your Taste, El Presidente?

Ultimately, Tropico Reloaded is not for everyone. Its humour is based on age-old subjects such as American politics; many of its jokes are founded in past events, but the subject matter itself is still sensitive! But if you think you'd appreciate a game that offers this sort of political commentary in a somewhat witty fashion, while still providing solid gameplay at the same time, you'll probably enjoy Tropico Reloaded.
