Tombo.pt is a popular web application that lets you browse the content of digital libraries in Portuguese. It is developed by the Instituto Português de Apoio ao Desenvolvimento (IPAD) - Directorate-General for Portuguese Development - and the Internet Archive - Internet Archive, both public and non-profit organizations.

How does it work?

There are two main parts to Tombo.pt. The first is the application, the second is the browser.

The application is free to use and does not require you to log in to access the sites. All the content is made available under Creative Commons licenses, so you can use it in any way you like, within the limits of what you are allowed to do under that license. In the same way, the sites' content and layout are protected by the same licenses, so you cannot copy, download, or modify it.

What can I do with it?

The application is intended for use with the browser, and you will need to use a browser with JavaScript enabled.

You can change your font size and the way it is displayed, so that it is easier to read. You can also use the in-app sharing option to share the current page with friends. You can also use the options in the menu on the left to change the color of the page, or to use the free-view option to preview it.
