The app is based on a behavior modification reinforcement system known as Token Economy, where children receive symbols or "tokens" for accomplishing targeted behaviors. Once a child collects the predetermined tokens, they can earn a reward of their choice. Tokenat is particularly beneficial for children with autism spectrum disorder, as it aligns with the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA).

The app offers features such as a reward image gallery, progress tracking through token images, the ability to remove tokens, optional sound effects for positive reinforcement, and a winning page upon collecting all required tokens. Additionally, Tokenat provides a gallery of token and reward images, sounds for token actions, the option to import custom images, and Arabic language support with right-to-left token orientation.
