تهذيب الكمال في أسماء الرجال is a book on the science of men's names written by the learned man Hafiz Jamaluddin Abu al-Hajjaj al-Mazzi. It is a refined, revised, and expanded version of the book "The Perfect Men in Names" by Hafiz Abdul Ghani al-Maqdisi. While the latter book only mentions the six men of books, Hafiz Mazzi has supplemented the original work by adding more narrators and meticulously checking the ones mentioned. He has also deleted some narrators who do not meet the criteria and added the narrators found in some of the works chosen from the six books. This has resulted in more than 1,700 additional translations. The book also includes historical information about the narrators and their elders, including birth and death dates, and any documented wounds or modifications.
