The Escapists is an indie adventure game that puts you in the shoes of a prisoner with a single goal – to escape. Developed by Mouldy Toof Studios and published by Team17 Digital, this game combines role-playing and puzzle elements to create a unique gaming experience.

The gameplay involves acquiring items that assist in the escape process either through buying or crafting. Interacting with other inmates, completing quests, visiting the gym, and reading in the library increases the player's stats. The player must avoid the attention of wardens and follow the timetable to avoid getting caught. The cells are frequently searched, so the player must hide their tools to avoid getting caught. The game has five add-ons that feature new prisons, crafts, and escape options.
