The Complex: Expedition is a premium adventure PC game from developer pgWave. It is a first-person walking simulator featuring sci-fi themes and psychological horror elements. In it, players take part in an expedition to enter a strange dimension to explore uncharted regions. However, they soon find themselves trapped inside a seemingly endless maze that they must figure out to survive and escape. 

Expedition gone wrong 

In the game, you are part of an expedition team sent to explore a place known as The Complex to explore new and uncharted regions. However, disaster strikes and you find yourself lost and alone, and must navigate the complex passages of a seemingly infinite maze to find a way out. The gameplay is that of a walking simulator and is presented through the lens of a VHS camera as the story unfolds. 

The game also takes inspiration from the popular Backrooms urban legend, as you navigate the maze with a sense of dread and a feeling that someone or something is watching every move you make. What’s more, there are multiple endings to unlock with your playthroughs. Despite that, though, The Complex: Expedition is quite short, lasting only a couple of hours. 

Survive the maze 

To sum up, if you like psychological horror games, The Complex: Expedition offers an experience with tension and dread as you try to navigate its maze and get out alive. While it will not be particularly long, it’s worth experiencing for the multiple endings you can unlock and the engaging Backroom-inspired game.
