It is a multiplayer Backrooms game that features the levels included in The Backrooms Deluxe, which introduces new gameplay mechanics to them. Something different

In essence, The Backrooms Deluxe 2 is an improved version of the original game, with new modifiers to change how you play in different ways. It also addresses the issues with the multiplayer gameplay and now offers a more stable and seamless experience. There are also additional achievements that serve up more challenges to take on.

As mentioned earlier, the game introduces a roguelite mechanic to the mix in the form of permadeath for increased difficulty and challenge. This is offset by the fact that you no longer need to complete a full run to collect Deluxe Coins, which some players will appreciate. Given all this, the gameplay experience still feels rather dull and empty. The levels are short, the enemy AI is bad, and you just end up wandering aimlessly.

Not much of an improvement

To sum up, The Backrooms Deluxe 2 falls short of being a true sequel, offering nothing of substance from its predecessor. The new modifiers and permadeath mechanic are interesting, but the gameplay itself leaves a lot to be desired. It’s still worth checking out if you’re a fan. Just don’t expect much.
