Tarneeb is a card game for four players, which can be played in two different teams. The standard 52-card deck is used, and each player is dealt 13 cards.

A set consists of three stages: the betting stage, the playing stage and the score-counting stage. After one set is over, a new set begins. The process continues until one of the two teams reaches the Preset Terminal Score (usually 31), and wins!

The game is played in fixed partnerships, with partners facing each other. The game is divided into two teams, and the partners play in a fixed order (left-right).

The cards in each suit are ranked from high to low: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.
