Similar to games like My Talking Tom and My Talking Angela, Talking Maria is also a free-to-download simulation game that features a cat you can interact with. However, this one stands out from the rest as its protagonist isn’t a cute and cuddly feline—instead, Maria has bulging, bloodshot eyes and a terrible posture.

Play at your own risk 

There are five major ways to interact with Maria—feeding her, bathing her, playing with her, talking to her, and letting her sleep. The status for each need is indicated via the circular logos on the top of the screen, and these will be filled as you attend to each need. 

Playing games will earn you coins you can spend on food. There are only three mini-games, however. Plus, the game is only available in Spanish. There are also no apparent ways to change Maria’s unpleasant appearance, which can scare and throw some younger players off. 

May not be suitable for sensitive players 

In a nutshell, Talking Maria presents a unique and unsettling twist on the virtual pet simulation genre. While it provides many interactive options like other titles, its eerie character design sets it apart. However, its limited mini-games, single-language availability, and the inability to alter Maria’s unsettling appearance may limit its appeal.
