Tactics V: "Obsidian Brigade" is a tactical turn-based video game that pays homage to console tactical RPGs from the 1990s. Developed by From Nothing Game Studios, the game is set in an in-house fantasy world with its own lore and magic. The game's graphics are designed to convert 3D assets to a 2D isometric look.

The game has a robust combat system with many mechanics, including facing, targeting styles, actions, delayed actions, and reactions. The world map navigation feature allows players to explore the game's 50+ hand-crafted levels and 80+ scripted scenes/battles. The game offershours of story and 3 hours of optional story, with 3 ½ tiers of gear/weaponry, 13 unique unlockable classes, and over 50 skills and 140 powers to unlock.

Players can also enjoy optional cooperative main-game by assigning troops to another controller during deployment.
