Tabfund is a Chrome extension developed by the TabFund Team. It falls under the category of Browsers and is a subcategory of Add-ons & Tools. This free extension allows users to raise money for research with each new tab they open while browsing the internet.

When you open a new tab with Tabfund, it transforms into a beautiful interface that not only helps you donate tabs but also shows real-time donations from around the world. The interface includes three banner ads.

As you open tabs while browsing, you earn "tab points" which represent the ad-revenue raised by the tabs you've opened. You can then choose which research subjects you want to donate your tabs to. It's a simple and effortless way to contribute to research funding.

At the end of each trimester, the money raised is distributed among all the research projects. Additionally, you receive a personal impact report detailing how the research you've supported has progressed. Tabfund has recently partnered with the University of Porto's Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (i3S), expanding its reach and impact.
