SYNCED is a free-to-play, match-based multiplayer shooter game developed by NExT Studios. Its setting features a futuristic, post-apocalyptic world infested with rogue technology called Nanos. These Nanos are why civilization has been wiped out, so now your task is to take them out and survive.

The non-linear gameplay comprises different levels structured in a way that all lead to a boss fight at the end of each one. Rogue-like mechanics make their appearance in the form of randomized perk purchase selections and the limited currency the player can use to buy them at the end of each level.

While such randomization allows for strategic thinking and foresight, the potential resulting imbalance can also put the player at a significant disadvantage. Simultaneously, you can upgrade your weapons and adjust your load-out according to your team’s structure. On the other hand, Prime Nanos encountered can be summoned as allies on your side after you defeat them. These Nanos have low cooldown time, which can be greatly useful in combat.

As for graphics, the game executes its firing and enemy-killing animations quite well. Paired with the sound effects, you will find that you’re in for an immersive shooter game experience. A tutorial at the beginning will show you the ropes, although its pacing is a bit dragging. The Runner selection is also limited, and their backstories and personalities are not thoroughly fleshed out.
