Surviving the Aftermath is a full-version strategy game developed by Haemimont Games and available on Xbox One. The game revolves around building and managing a colony of survivors after a catastrophic world-ending event. The game offers more than 50 unique buildings that players can construct to handle everything from resource collection and farming to exploration and security. One of the essential features of the game is constructing the Gate that allows players to venture into the savage world beyond the colony.

Surviving the Aftermath features a vast procedurally generated world with six different biomes filled with exploitable resources, bandits, and other challenges. Each environment has different conditions that affect the colony's survival, and natural disasters will put the survivors to the test. The game offers over 46 unique Specialists, each with their own skills and motivations, to manage the colony's resources and production. Players can send these Specialists beyond the Gate on scientific missions, scavenger runs, and to fight bandits.

The game requires players to make moral choices, as life in the aftermath can be unpredictable. Although players cannot control everything in the colony, how they respond to situations and emergent events will shape the character of the new civilization.
