The Super Bros Adventure game was released for the arcades in 1985 and was one of the most successful arcade games of that year. It was designed and developed by the company that would go on to create many other hit arcade games, such as Dragon Warrior, Kung Fu Karate, Street Fighter, Metal Slug, Castlevania, and Sonic the Hedgehog.

The game takes place in an infinite world, where the player can move around and explore. They can also find many different items and power-ups scattered around the world. In addition to that, the world is divided into eight different regions, called worlds, that can be unlocked by completing the game. Each world has an overworld map that the player can explore.
